   Garner Volunteer Fire Rescue Inc. is a combination department serving over 50,000 people in the Town of Garner and Wake County area totaling 53 square miles of district.  We operate out of 3 stations with the 4th one under construction.  Each station is staffed 24 hours a day.  Our department protects lives, property, and environment through highly trained firefighters with state of the art equipment. 
Services include:
• Fire Suppression
• First Responder Medical service as EMT-B
• Technical Rescue
• Fire Prevention and Education


Garner Fire Rescue starts its annual picture drive fundraiser!!
Summit Productions will be going door to door setting appointments to have pictures made in March.  January 5, 2010 thru March 2010.  We thank you for your support!  Money from this fundraiser will help fund community relation projects and fire prevention. Garner Fire E-1, E-3, Car 2, Raleigh E-2 responds to a kitchen fire on Axum rd.

Garner Fire Rescue starts the morning off with some MVA,s. No major injuries.

1-29-2010 (B-Shift)

E-2,Rescue 2, Car 2, Car,3 responded to a single car MVA Hwy 50 South @ Arbor Green Dr.  Occupant walked away with no injuries.  Seat belts and air bags save lives!

Garner Engine 3 responded to an early morning wreck on Buffaloe at Navan.  Believe it or not no one was really hurt, they both got ejected and landed 20 ft from the car.

Garner Fire Rescue responded to a chimney fire Friday night.


 1/21/2010 (A Shift)

Garner Fire Engine 3, Engine 1, Rescue 1, Ladder 1, Car 2, Raleigh Engine 2 responded to a commercial structure fire at 1450 Garner Station Blvd. After thorough investigation it was found that there was actually no fire, but a ruptured water line that caused the drop ceiling to fall and an electircal odor in the building.

Garner Fire Engine 1, Engine 3, Rescue 1, Car 2, Car 10, and Raleigh Engine 10 responded to a house fire at 1010 Southerlund Dr. Fire was held to the living area but with smoke damge throughout.

Garner Fire Rescue handles a crash on I 40 near Jones Sausage Rd.

Not much progress at the site of Station 4 during this cold snap.


1/4/2010 (B Shift)

Garner Fire Rescue Engine 1, Engine 3, Rescue 1, and Car 2 were dispatched to a reported house fire at 102 Nivens Ct.  Units found smoke in the upstairs of the house coming from the heating unit. Firefighters handled the problem and removed the smoke.


1/3/2010 (A-Shift)

Garner Fire Rescue Engine 3, Engine 1, Ladder 1, Car 2, and Raleigh Engine 2 were dispatched to a commercial structure fire at 1602 Mechanical Blvd. at the Econo Lodge.  Units extinguished a fire in a dryer and removed smoke.

 

 


1/1/2010 (C Shift)

Garner Fire Rescue brings in the new year with 2 working fires at the same time. Garner Station 2 and 3 and Fairview FD units handled a working mobile home fire on N. Spring Garden and Garner Station 1, Swiftcreek, and Raleigh Engine 2 had a working fire in a commercial garage off Purser Dr. Both are under investigation by the Wake County Fire Marshall's Office.
