Garner Fire Rescue got updated with an e-mail on old Rescue 1 and the service it is providing the Corning Volunteer Fire Department.

Dear Garner Fire Rescue,

Just wanted to take a moment to send you an update on your old fire support vehicle.
We put her in service on Dec. 1st. We only made a few changes, such as new “Wisconsin” rear tires, new batteries, lettering and chevrons on the rear of the vehicle.
Also made a few changes to the cascade system, adding a quick fill line for our SCBA’s
The” North Carolina” tires didn’t like all the snow and ice we have been getting up here.
She runs like a champ and she has been on several runs already. One major house fire where we had a -20 degree wind chill. The rig worked well for warming up some frozen firefighters.
